Greyt Site! Just wanted fellow Ohioans interested in adopting that there are MANY greyhounds coming to the Toledo area on Oct. 12, '97, due to a track closing in Connecticut. If anyone is interested, please e-mail me and I'll send
you more info. We've had our greyt-hound, Boomer, for 5 of his 8 years, and he lives with 2 other dog siblings and 2 cat siblings. He's WONDERFUL!

Hello to all fellow greyhound owners...
Bailey came into our lives just 7 short weeks ago and our lives have never had more meaning ( and will certainly never be the same!). We crossed a major milestone just this past weekend by RETURNING THE CRATE to the Greyhound Rescue! Now our kitchen can
get back to normal.
Bailey is a playful European bread chocalate brindle greyhound. Because of his European heritage, we have not yet been able to verify his age and lineage. The Greyhound Rescue, Inc. in Elkridge, MD is doing their best to find out Bailey's vital statisti
cs, but to date we have had no luck. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to let us know.
Again, Bailey is our dream come true and adopting him was the best decision we could have ever made. We suggest it to anyone!
Thanks for the great site.

Great site! This is my third day in a row of visiting it. Myah came into our lives on February 22, 1997. She is 4 years old, weighs 75+ pounds, and is a red fawn with black eye-liner and mascara. She is the best dog we have ever
had and we all love her very much. At one point, we had two Greys, but Myah didn't like him and made his life miserable. We are now interested in getting an Italian grey. Myah is the light of our lives and we overlook every misdemeanor because she is
so darn cute! Greyhounds truly are the best dogs in the world.

We have a family member that has adopted a greyt, and we fell in love with her. So, our 8 yr old is having no problem convincing my husband and me to adopt one in the near future. If anyone has experience with a greyhound and hors
es the info would be appreciated. We don't want to upset either animal. Thanks for all the information on adopting and their lifestyle before retirement.

Although my wife and I are currently living in an apartment, we plan to build in the spring.
We've already decided to adopt two greyhounds after the house and a fenced-in area for the
dogs are completed. A local ambulance company held a rabies clinic last weekend, which was
also attended by a local greyhound adoption agency. When we arrived, my wife was like a child
on Christmas day. A black male named Spider stole our hearts. Now I cannot think of owning
another breed of dog other than a greyhound. Their calm demeanor and affection have won us over.

What an excellent site. It'is very well done. My family are
already proud owners of greyhounds. We have a red brindle
male 3 yrs named Chance, a 6 yr black female named Kit, and
to top it of we have a 5yr old male whippet named Timbo.
We cherish them all. They are everything you say and more.
And I don't think that we are at an end of our adoptions either.
We support the greyhound adoption in our area, and we assist them
with new adoptions. Keep up the excellent work.

Great site. Enjoyed reading all the comments and wonderful experiences everyone has with their greyhounds. We adopted Sarah, a 3 year old beautiful brindle, last year from Greyhound Friends of NC and then adopted another girl, Kali,
a gorgous red fawn, from a kennel in Florida this past July. These two girls are the most affectionate and loyal dogs. I can't imagine ever being without a grey!

Just thought you'd like to know that your good info sealed
our decision to add a Greyhound to the gang. Just 7 days
now but our Grey has charmed us and our neighbors and
their kids.
He's become an energetic playmate to our Saint (who needed
one of those), and has loosened up our Newfoundland. You
gotta see a Grey and a Saint tugging on a sock!
My wife agreed to a grey (she now admits) because I wanted
one so much. He's won her over completely.
And your influence cascades. A friend is coming over
tomorrow to meet Ebenezer. She's now excited about adding
a couple of Greys to her family that includes two Great
Danes. Another friend will probably adopt a Grey next
month after hearing my stories.
Keep up the good work.
BTW, we got our guy through Greyhound Companions
based in Elkhart, IN.

Everytime I come back to your site I enjoy it more and more!!!!
Even if I'm owned by a little IG, I'd like to get a "big brother" in the future!
Here in Italy the situation is differnet, we don't have dog races, so if you want a greyhound you must buy from a breeder.
But I'd like to help a retired dog!!!
Anyway, keep on with your great job!!!
Cheers from Italy!

We adopted Holly (formerly J.D. Timebomb) In April of 96 and took Ribsy (formerly Gerden's OOH Baby) as a foster in November 96. Ribsy subsequently tricked us into adopting her too and we couldn't be happier. These two dogs think t
hat it is their God given right to go for a walk at 6:00 am every morning (They have no concept of weekends). We walk an hour and it's really good for me so I don't mind too much.
What do you folks do when there's bad weather (rain) and the dogs really want to walk? Another question I have is what do you do when the time comes that you have to go somewhere, for a weekend or so, and the dogs can't go. They just spent a week camping
with us. I can't imagine them happy in a kennel.
We'd love to hear your thoughts.

Could you please tell me why my boy "nits" me so very hard. Is that a sign of great affection or sign of dominance? He moves when I move and his attention is focused on me. He rarely "nits" my husband. When it gets late in the eve
ning, he takes my shirt and pulls me to the bedroom. He sleeps with us and I must be there too! If only we could have more greyhounds!! We revolve our life around Darius (and I think he does the same,) I think you should advertize the greyhound as "Th

Thanks for a great site. We are the proud owners of Arnie and Sarah who have been with us for three years. What wonderful and loving dogs. Arnie is the lover and Sarah is the alpha. But she loves Arnie and occasionally lets him
play with her toys. I am so glad to find this. We sometimes have questions above their behavior and this looks like a great place to get answers. Please write we would love to hear from other owners.

I am so glad to find this site. We have two rescued greyhounds, Arnie and Sarah. We have had them both for three years and they have changed our lives. We also have four cats. We all live in harmony most of the time.
Arnie is our sweet one and although Sarah can be sweet she is definitely our alpha dog. She gets all the toys. Sometimes she lets Arnie play with one she is tired of. But he loves her and she loves him and we love them.

I started with one ghound, now I have 5. They are the most fantastic dogs I have ever seen, each one gentle, loving and very smart. Each time I look into their eyes, I fall in love all over again. I tell everyone how great they are

I have been waiting since last Christmas. I will find out tomorrow if we get a home that we put a bid on. I have been waiting all this time not just for a home but for a greyhound. I think that I am more excited about the dog tha
n I am the house. I called NJGAP to let them know that I hope to be able to accept a dog in November. During the lag time of just wanting a dog, as opposed to having one, I found this web site to be FULL of all the information you could ever need, so mu
ch so that the people were amazed that I knew so much about greyhounds without actually ever owning one. Its all because I did my home work and did all my gathering in here. So thank you tons and make a wish for the house and the dog to go with it. Aga
in thank you for all your hard work it is truely appreciated.
