I am interested in adopting a Greyhound, have been for yers. We have just recently brought home a female Golden Retreiver puppy, 8 wks old. My husband said it would be best to wait to adopt until the puppy is about 6 mons. old because an older dog would dominate the puppy. Is that true of Greyhounds?

I realy enjoyed you site. It been 1 and 1/2 year now sence i lost my adopted grayhound he's name was Lucky Henery and I loved him so much he was totaly black except for his front left to on his left leg. He was the best he was always there for me he is truly missed i don't think that he can ever be replaced. Thank you every one who has taken home a grayhound. Lucky Henery and been at a shelther for over 9 months. and when i looked in to his big sad eyes i knew that he was mine. One day i guess i get another but now i don't think that his place will ever be filled in my heart.

GROOVY!! Love this site; very informative! I have two fantastic grey's, Conan and Jade. I am absolutely crazy in love with these dogs. Keep up the great work, there are still lots of people missing out on the fun of owning these retired racers.

What a great website! It really helped us to make the decision to bring "Rocky" into our family! He's a 3.5 year old white with red spots, and we already love him dearly- HOWEVER, (don't you love those "however's"!) although Rocky has adjusted beautifully to our Golden and to the cat, (not to mention two kids!) he keeps picking up anything and everything to chew on! We've given him chew toys and footballs and all the other "dog appropriate" toys, but he just cruises the house looking for other items of interest! We've only had him a week- is this something he'll stop doing? any advice? Also, does anyone have any advice on teaching a greyhound to climb stairs? actually I need advice on getting Rocky to go DOWN the stairs- Thanks!

I love this site! It's an all-in-one for the whole country. I'm going to feature a link on my own greyhound page. I don't have a greyhound yet, but I will someday! Keep up the good work. The url I'm leaving is the start of my greyhound page, but anyone is welcome to visit my whole site.

Yesterday 8/8/98 we were in the Harris county shelter looking for our Rat Terrier that has been missing since 7/14. She was being boarded at Roman's kennel in Baytown and despite having 4 phone numbers for us they never called. Amy was missing for 2 days and 1 night before we knew. She is black & white about 10 lb. If anyone sees her or might have taken her in please call 281-420-3909 or 281-235-8141 anytime of the day or night and we'll be right there. We are offering a large reward for her return. The reason I am at the Greyhound site is that in the Harris county shelter there is a Greyhound that is dark gray in color with some white hairs running thru her coat and has a lump on right front leg down low. Surely somebody is grieving for this dog.
