If I could, My husband and I would have more I am sure. Here in Phoenix and the surrounding cities, the people have been wonderful Parents to the greyhounds we have taken in over t he past 5 years. I have a 6 year old Greyhound. She is truly the love of my life!! I have never felt about a dog the way I do her. She gives all of herself so unconditionally. Her name is Myriah. She is Brindle in color. She is graying around the nose, but she is still beautiful. Her eyes are dark brown, and those eyes are what tell so much about her to me. I love her with all my heart. Anyone out there thinking of adopting a Greyhound, JUST DO IT!!. You will never regret. I guarantee it.

Hi...I am the proud 'human' belonging to Pearl a.k.a Pearlized Jazz, now an eight yr old female ex-racer. She is snow white with a perfect 2 inch circle of black on her backside directly above her tail. I adopted her from Greyhound Pets in Keene NH back in July 1991 when she was 2 yrs old. She spent her first 3 yrs as the queen of Central and Riverside Parks in NYC, NY. For the past 3 yrs we've resided in New England. Pearl shares me with 2 kitty sisters (Nike and Reebok) and is my sometimes running partner. Quite the diva, she feels that if she is present all humans should pay attention to her and only her! If conversation is going among us humans, someone better be petting Miss Pearl or she complains in that harmonious (ha-ha ) whine unique to greyhounds. She is quite the glamour-puss and a joy to own! Can't wait to upload her pic to the Retired Racer Hall of Fame.

We've had our "Rocky" , a beautiful brindle for over 3 years and he has brought so much love and joy to our lives. He is sweet, loving, and so special to us! If we didn't already have two other dogs, (a husky and a golden mix), we would get another greyhound. I would recommend greyhounds to anyone who wants a special friend.

Glad to have you back on-line on the new address--it was very frustrating to not be able to pull up your site for the past few weeks!! Just went to the RR Hall of Fame for a peek and I love the new format. It is so much easier to see the photos and the graphics are very neat with the racing info and all. I hope to get pictures of our two boys into you soon. Zima and River are getting along well (River has now been with us 3 months and his leg injury has healed well. He runs around the backyard with Zima as if it had never been broken.) The Greyboys have been doing a lot of meet-and-greets and parades this summer and are becoming quite the Ambassadogs. We are considering fostering another dog, but I know where that usall y leads to....: ) Keep on with the wonderful work. I try to tell everyone interested in adopting to check out this site first as I consider it one of the best out there.

We recently adopted "Ace Rapture", a beautiful red brindle female from Arizona-Adopt-A-Greyhound, Inc. We renamed her Xena, because she is now "our" princess and due to her racing career was a true warrior. She has been nothing short of magnificent. We love our Xena, and she truly loves us.

We've had our gorgeous girl, named "Laura Heather" (much better than her track name "No Dak Madness" -- UGH!!) by my 11-year-old daughter, since Palm Sunday this year -- we adopted her from W.A.G. in Connecticutt. Paul Botticello, the W.A.G. kennel master, who weekly picks up dogs from the Hartford track and acts as "foster daddy" getting them vet prepped and loving them ALL for their interim time with him between the track and their new homes, should be declared a saint! Our girl is the world's best and prettiest doggie -- a dark brindle whose personality keeps developing new facets daily. She's not much for toys yet but LOVES to play with her smoked pig ears, tossing them into the air, catching them, and tearing around the hous e. I'm proud to say I helped place my first (hopefullty of many) grey with a family of friends this week!! I'd like to get some information about the Dewey Beach activity this fall -- we went there on vacation and our hotel told us about it, said we coul d find more info on the www -- but as a newbie, I've not had any success thus far. Thanks for a great site!!!

Great Job with your page!!!!!! Been with the hounds and many canines all my life and wish to assist in your efforts . Developing many training programs to re-train retired hounds in obedience utility, ete. Please check out my page www.safari.net/~psmith Would consider being a major promoter within the efforts offering my skills with training, care and helping educate those adopting about the de-programing from track life. I have trained at various tracks in the past and know both sides of the retired greyhound. Track and Companion life. thankyou Jamie York (860)564-3678 Plainfield,Ct.06374

My husband and I adopted a retired racer about 2 months ago. We have a miniature dachshund and a cat. Our new greyhound, Aimee, has accepted her new home happily!! She loves to go for her daily walks. She doesn't like to run tho ugh, the Houston summer reall gets to her. We were told when we adopted her that she had only barked maybe once or twice in her foster home. But, when she came to our house, she started mimicking our dachshund(who is a barker by nature), and now the tw o of them don't miss anything in the neighborhood!!!! We have a very happy family.

I would like to thank Leann and Bill of Rescued Racers in St. Louis and Mid-South Greyhound Adoption in West Memphis Arkansas for allowing me to adopt a retired greyhound. The gratitude I feel cannot be put into words. I adopted M onroe on July 20. Her new name is "Roe" or "Roe-Roe". I was warned that she was VERY shy, and she is. But that just adds to her personality. She's the sweetest dog in the world and loves playing with her new "sister" Bingo, a three year old Australia n Heeler. She very much wants to please me and gets really excited when I laugh at her. To anyone considering the adoption of a retired greyhound, call your local agency(ies), read everything you can, and then do it! You will not regret it. Again, tha nks to Leann and Bill and the wonderful people at Mid-South. You have brought another ray of sunshine in my life. I love Roe, she seems to be very happy, and all is right with the world!!! I would never hesitate to adopt another greyhound if the situat ion comes up.
