Can you tell me where I can get copies of the prints in the Gallery. I am particularly interested in the National Geographic prints. I have 2 greyhounds I adopted. We are part of a group called Helping Hounds. There are about 30-40 of us doing pet assited therapy in the Memphis area with the retired racers. They are wonderful therapy animals!

I was at Petsmart this past weekend and there was a "Greyhound Gang" showing some retired greyhounds for adoption. I never would have thought myself to like such a big dog. I have only owned small dogs but I was so impressed with these magnificant animals that I will someday consider getting one. I just don't feel that apartment living would do them justice.

Hello again from Oyster Bay, New York. Some of you will remember some time ago I reported that my black male "Gunslinger" (Gunner) had completely ripped off a rear toe nail. I want to again thank all who wrote to me saying he'd be o.k. I can now report that for the first time this week there was enough of the little nail grown out to have something to trim - just a sliver off the tip, but I was thrilled. Surprising the things that become important when there are Greyhounds in your life. Of course, he and Isis (red brindle bitch) would be glad if I 'lost' the clippers, but that is another story. Thank you again. Dorothy V.

We recently lost our Springer Spaniel, Chelsie, who was just 13 yrs old. The loss can not be put into words, just tears. She will never be forgotten. To be able to help save such a wonderful dog as the greyhound seems to be somthing everyone would want to do. As soon as our emotions come under better control after our loss, we are strongley concidering an adoption.

I had seen on TV some time ago about groups such as yourselves who were saving these greyhounds. At the time I had my German Shepherd, but we recently had to put her down (she was 13 years old). But I remember thinking that if I were to get another pet I would want to adopt a greyhound because they seemed like the kindest, gentlest dogs, and I think it is awful what happens to them after their racing careers. Anyway, thought I would do some research on it, and I found your website to be most informative. I'm still mourning my last dog right now, but when I am ready to adopt another pet, I will seriously consider getting a retired racing greyhound who deserves a good home.

Hello, I lived in a apartment once for 9 years always wanted a greyhound but alas there was a 25lbs limit that is how I got introduced to the Italian Greyhound. I still believe in rescue and adoption of Greyhounds and I also have my friend Patti Mason that runs thee Italian Greyhound rescue.. Greyhounds are the most loving animals that I have ever seen and so are the miniture hound mates, I.G.'s. I commend you on your service here and wish you the best on putting out the info for saving the most wonderful canines of the universe.

I recently lost my Afghan Hound (13 years old) and my oldest Wirehaired Dachshund (14 years old). I still have four Wires at home ranging from 10-1/2 through 12-1/2 years of age. These are all retired "champions" and are best at keeping the couch warm. Once my present "family" is no longer with me, I'm planning to adopt one or two males, hopefully red brindles. I've always loved the greys, but the Wires are much too aggressive to introduce a new family member. I fell in love with this breed about ten years ago and am looking forward to the day when I'm able to bring them into my home. Thanks for the great site!

Your site is great. I am thinking of adopting one and am doing all kinds of research to try to learn everything I can about the greyhound. I must let the agency know by Friday. I must say I had many reservations about taking on another dog. I already have a 1 year old part husky female that I found in the desert (southwest U.S.) when she was a pup. My husband and I work and Maggie is home alone all day. I worry about her being lonely and had been wanting another dog as a companion for her. I was at a pet supply store where a Greyhound Adoption League is allowed to bring the dogs in to try to get them adopted. I was only there for dog and cat food and saw the greys and my husband and I fell for one who had been found wandering alone and she had apparently been abused. She has a few scars and know one else seems to be interested in her. The more I have read, the more excited I am becoming in adopting her. I am disgusted with what I have been reading about how a greyhound must live while racing and what happens to a lot of them when their racing career is over. I sure want to do what I can to at least help one. I am amazed at all of the agencies that are trying to help the greys in their plight. God bless you all.

Seems to be the question of the day, how will a greyhound be with two cats, which is also my question. Also are the minature greyhounds just the same in regards to temperment, "couch potatoness" etc? The greyhound is an awesome creature, and my daughter has been asking for a dog for at least 2 years now, we decided it was time, so we have really been researching the dog world. They seem to fit the bill for us, I think! I was surprised to see hardly any emails from my side of the nation, am i alone in my love of greyhounds?

I just picked up my first greyhound from the adoption program on Wednesday. He's a three year old, 75 lb. dark brindle boy! Boy is he gorgeous. He loves our kids (except when he's sleeping). His racing name is "Voodoo Lager". We've decided his name will be Lager because he answers to that. He's a great dog and he loves to play first thing in the morning when i let him out (5:00 A.M.!!!). If you haven't adopted one of these fine hounds, you are short changing yourself. They are great companions and family members. Need more info? Send me an email.

What type of diet do they have (normal or specialized)? What type of life expectany do they have after adoption? Until I met Yukon Jack, a greyhound that was brought to the hospital I work at, I never thought twice about greyhounds. This beautiful dog brought me face to face with reality and the mistreatment of this amazing animal. This lovable and trusting dog passed no judgment on me as he walked up to me with his tail waging in excitment. His dark brown eyes saw right into my heart and that is wear he will always stay.I will never in my life forget Yukon Jack and I will also never forget the cuts and scars he wore on his body.Right now I sponsor a greyhound and when I am able to adopt one I will know that this wonderful animal will make me the luckest person ever.

Hello, I have a greyhound I adopted about 3 years ago. She's Lily -8 years old and lives with 2 Schipperkes. I really love my greyhound- what a great companion. The schipperkes do obedience and agility and Lily prefers keeping the couch warm.

I would like to tell you that this site is wonderful for greyhound lovers. I gave your url to a wonderful site that makes stationery for IE 5 mail program. They made a page of greyhound stationery and dedicated it to greyhound adoption. I gave them your site for a link since it contains adoption groups. I hope you do not mind. http://thundercloud.net/stationery/canines/

I would love to have a Greyhound, I think they are great and hate the way their gambling original owners torture and starve them to death, when they retire. I like that kind of dog. Very nice pages.

We just found this site and enjoyed it very much. We have two beautiful girls -- Molly Dee (formerly Mountaindewdrive) who will soon be three and have had for one year and Sara (Sara Butte)who just turned five and have just recently adopted. We have found them to be the most loving of pets. We have added your site to our favorites list and will check it often. Bob, Cheryl, Molly Dee and Sara

I have just adopted my 2nd Greyt-hound! I admit I have caught the "potato chip syndrome"! Aramis is my first love. A 80+ pound red brindle boy who is a hard core 45mph couch potato! Cairo is my new addition. A 80+ pound red fawn boy who is the exact opposite of Aramis. Cairo is just plain 45mph! To all of you out there considering a Greyhound...GO FOR IT! Once you have one you'll wonder how you ever lived without one.

After a year of research, my husband & I adopted our first greyhound a month ago, female brindle, 2 years old, and named her Mercedes. She gets along well with our 10 year silky terrier. What a wonderful, sweet, lovable animal! We have our first obedience class today - it's for greyhounds only. I highly recommend a greyhound to any animal lover.

This is a really great website! I've been wanting to adopt a greyhound for as long as I can remember, but I've still got another couple of years or so before I can. So at least now I can spend my time learning more about them!

JUST DO IT!! You people sitting on the fence! Greyhounds are wonderful pets. Go ahead and jump in with all fours! My wife and I are sure glad we did! Heather, our 5 year old white w/red brindle, has been with us for over a year now. She is one of our "GREYT-EST" joys. Another is our 8 year old Beagle Misty. They are our "children" so to speak. Together they make up our happy family. JUST DO IT!! You won't be sorry.
