Gwydion ap Myrddin tells of the events leading up to, and including the battle of Hastings in 1066. This tapestry is over 200 feet long. In the first panel (Above) the King of England, Edward the Confessor, sends his son-in-law, Harold, to Normandy to tell Duke William that he is to be his heir. The hounds lead the way.
