Greyhound Welfare Efforts
Participants include Fermin Perez, Director, Scooby Animal Refuge, Medina del Campo, Spain. Fermin will be joined by Poncho, Pozo and Valor, three Galgos, now pets in the U.S. Marion Fitzgibbon, President of the Irish SPCA will give an update on Irish transport to Spain and conditions in Ireland. Owen, an Irish greyhound auction survivor accompanies Marion. Brenda Brooks, Quad Cities Greyhound Adoption will address the problem of greyhounds with broken legs.

Jill Hopfenbeck, DVM and Linda Miranda, representatives of Grey2K will be available to discuss the citizens' ballot initiative to ban Greyhound racing in Massachusetts.

Proceeds will defray the legal cost in getting the Greyhounds released from the Wisconsin research lab. The Backyard at 17A McKinley Street. Winning bidders can pick up their items between 4:30PM and 5:30PM on

Brunch Speaker
Dr. Steven W. Dow, DVM, Phd. D-ACVIM, the principal investigator
on the study co-sponsored through the Greyhound Cancer Fund at the
Morris Animal Foundation, will be the guest speaker. Dr. Dow is an
instructor at the National Jewish Center for Immunology in Denver,
Colorado where he focuses his research on genetic immunotherapy of
cancer, allergy and infectious diseases.
Brunch will be served at Crabbers Cove on the ground level and the Bay
Center Room on the upper level at the Ruddertown Complex. Anyone who
needs to leave early should brunch at Crabbers Cove. Dr. Dow will be
speaking in the Bay Center Room.
