Writers whose articles for CG Magazine have been recognized by the DWAA in previous years:

Lee Jolliffe's article, "What to Do When There's Nothing to Be Done (Fall 2004 CG), was a finalist in the Feature Article in a Single Breed Magazine category in 2005.  It was also a finalist for a special award, the Eukanuba Canine Health Award.

Mary Simpson's article, "Greyhound, Come Dance With Me" (Fall 2003 CG), won the World Canine Freestyle Organization's WCFO Excellence in Canine Freestyle Media Award in 2004.

Marcia Herman's article, "Dogs of Hope: Long-term Osteosarcoma Survivors" (Fall 2004 CG), was a finalist in the Feature Article in a Single Breed Magazine category in 2004.

Kathy Hoynes's series of illustrations for "Where Are My Jammies?" (Summer 2004 CG), was a finalist in the Humorous Art category in 2003.

Ilaria Borghese's article, "Corns and Warts:  Definitions, Causes, and Treatments" (Fall 2003 CG), was a finalist in the Feature Article in a Single Breed Magazine category in 2003.

Cynthia Branigan's article, "Dog Tired: How to Save Animals--and Your Sanity!" (Spring 2003, CG) was a finalist in the Magazine: Editorial/Opinion/Essay category in 2003.

Cheryl Giebel's article, "Leptospirosis" (Summer 2001, CG) was named Best Individual Feature Article in a Single Breed Magazine in 2001.

Maureen Nelms's short story, "Coyote Dog" (Spring and Summer 2001, CG), was a finalist in the Short Fiction category in 2001.

Cynthia Branigan's article, "On Death, Dying, and Dogs" (Summer 2000, CG) won in the Editorial/Opinion Piece/Essay category in 2000.

The late Joan Dillon's story, "Azor: A Fictional Tale" (Winter 2000, CG), was a finalist in the Magazine: Short Fiction category.

Jordan Mebane's article, "From the Mebane Couch" (Summer 1999, CG), received two awards, one in the Magazine: Editorial/Opinion/Essay category and another in the special category, the DWAA Junior Writer Award.

Patricia Gail Burnham's Kira Series was a finalist in the Magazine: Subject-related series (1998, CG).
